Transportation Needed: A car with good
clearance
How To Get There: Oneuli: Go south past the Maui Prince Resort
.85miles. Look for orange gate (not yellow as indicated by
map below) and dirt road on your right. Drive a couple
hundred yards to parking area. Makena Big: About .15
mile past oneuli entrance. Park and walk to beach. Makena
Little: Go to makena big beach and walk to the lava
outcropping onyour right and scale the lava to the beach on
the other side.
When To Snorkel Or
Dive: Year round, but be aware of waves in
the summer. Also, all site are better in the morning before the
wind kicks up.
Where To Snorkel Or
Dive: Oneuli: Follow the reef on the
left side on the beach. Makena Big: Follow the lava
outcropping on the right. Makena Little: Follow the
lava outcropping on the right.
What You May Find: Large amount of
amazingly colorful reef fish. One of the better snorkeling
areas on the south side.

Occasional high surf in summer. Currents at anytime of year
