Information & History

Olinda is located above Makawao further up the Volcano. Reaching elevations of over 3,000 feet, Olinda is cooler and a bit more moist than Makawao. Clouds hovering along the flanks of Haleakala often blanket the area in mist and low lying clouds. With its towering Eucalyptus and Pine trees, many are reminded of Northern California. Olinda is also home to Seabury Hall, one of the best prep schools in the Western United States.
