OVERVIEW |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Kahakili /
Airport Beach is located north of Black Rock
on Kaanapali Beach, and north of the Royal
Lahaina Resort. This beach is also popular
with the locals, especially since it has a
nice grassy, park area where families come
together for gatherings. So it can get
crowded. But it is a long beach, although
narrow in some areas, so you can usually
find a quiet spot. The snorkeling and diving
here are great. The wind tends to come up
pretty strong in the afternoon, so the
morning is best.
The swimming here is fine, but beware of the
reef that starts not far off shore. Hence,
the great snorkeling and scuba diving. The
waves can get fun for boogieboarding as
well.
There are many amenities here including,
bathrooms, showers, and a nice park area
with picnic tables and BBQ areas. |

PLEASE NOTE |
|
| |
|
|
| |
While
Hawaii's beaches can bring much enjoyment,
it is always a good practice to use common
sense while visiting them. Please be aware
of the wave & wind conditions before going
into the water. Mornings are usually best
for swimming, snorkeling or diving. Have
respect for the strength of the waves and be
aware that high surf can come up at any
time. NEVER turn your back to the ocean.
Be careful when exploring any rocky
shorelines. Waves can crash on the rocks and
knock you over easily, and the rocks may
also be sharp when walking on them.
When snorkeling or scuba diving, please have
respect for ocean life, and remember that
the coral reef is alive too. Avoid standing
on or touching if at all possible. |
