OVERVIEW |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Kaanapali
Beach is one of Maui’s most popular beaches.
All of the major resorts in Kaanapali front
this beach. It is a long beach that is
really wide in some sections. It is about 3
miles long. The beach is divided up into a
couple sections with there own names. These
being "Dig Me Beach", which is in front of
the Whaler's Village Shopping Area, and
"Black Rock", which is in front of the
Sheraton Maui on the north side of the
beach.
There are many things you can do at this
beach depending on what section you are at.
You can snorkel, surf, boogieboard, people
watch, sunbath, and scuba dive. Our favorite
area is the Black Rock section. Where there
is great snorkeling and scuba diving. You
can also jump off the small cliff into the
ocean AT YOUR OWN RISK.
There are many amenities at this beach
depending on which resort or shopping area
fronts the section you visit. The easiest
parking is at Whaler's Village Shopping
Center, although you have to pay. |

PLEASE NOTE |
|
| |
|
|
| |
While
Hawaii's beaches can bring much enjoyment,
it is always a good practice to use common
sense while visiting them. Please be aware
of the wave & wind conditions before going
into the water. Mornings are usually best
for swimming, snorkeling or diving. Have
respect for the strength of the waves and be
aware that high surf can come up at any
time. NEVER turn your back to the ocean.
Be careful when exploring any rocky
shorelines. Waves can crash on the rocks and
knock you over easily, and the rocks may
also be sharp when walking on them.
When snorkeling or scuba diving, please have
respect for ocean life, and remember that
the coral reef is alive too. Avoid standing
on or touching if at all possible. |
