Directions:
From Lahaina, take Honoapiilani
Highway (Hwy. 30) north to mile
marker 38. (Skip the wide turnout
parking lot, which is 1/2 mile past
mile marker 38 and the more popular
trail head to the blowhole.)
Instead, park at the small lot at
mile marker 38, walk through the
yellow gate, and follow the jeep
road to the light beacon, leading to
the waters edge; you'll have wide
open views of the ocean and stunning
coastline. NOTE: This is a
popular tourist stop, but it is
owned by Maui Land & Pineapple
Company. Please be respectful. |

OVERVIEW |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Set on Maui's northern coast, Nakalele Point
is an otherworldly scene of twisted lava and
hissing ocean. Water surges through a hole
in the lava shelf, erupting like a geyser
and sending seawater some100 feet or more
into the air. Rocky coastline and ocean
views abound, and easy walking makes it a
good family stop........ |
