The luxurious The
Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua is not only a 5-Star
hotel, but also has been awarded 5-Diamonds,
a prestigious award given to only the finest
of hotels. Reopened in January 2008 after a
$180 million renovation, the hotel is
surrounded by rolling hills, an
award-winning beach and two championship
golf courses and is the home of the PGA Tour
season-opening Mercedes-Benz Championship.
But as beautiful and exciting as the courses
might be and the hotel's setting, it is the
ambiance that has been created in this
remarkable renovation of such a classic
resort that will bring back guests year
after year. The hotel is nestled in the
middle of a century-old pineapple plantation
with lush tropical flowers and plants,
swaying coconut trees, breathtaking sunsets
and, of course, world-class service. Upon
arrival, you will be personally greeted with
a lei to welcome you to the hotel.
The property amenities seem endless starting
with a stunning new pool area - 10,000 sq.
ft., tri-level pool with small waterfalls,
two spa tubs, a 20,000 sq.ft. sundeck and
even a new children's pool. There are 36
holes of championship golf on two courses as
well as the Kapalua Golf Academy. Other
amenities include a manicured lawn for bocce
ball, shuffleboard and croquet, six tennis
courts and one basketball court. There is a
new Kapalua Adventure Center and Mountain
Outpost with shopping, organic cafe and
complimentary evening activities as well as
two suspension bridges over natural ravines.
The new Ritz-Carlton Spa, Kapalua has opened
and has to be one of the most beautiful spas
in the state, featuring 15 treatment rooms
with half opening to private shower gardens,
iPod docking stations, robe warmers, two
outdoor couples cabanas, women and men's
relaxation areas with lava stone grotto
areas, steam rooms, saunas and whirlpools
and the only co-ed indoor/outdoor relaxation
area in Hawaii with a whirlpool overlooking
a taro patch garden. The salon features a
full range of services and the new Fitness
Center, open 24 hours with room key access,
has dramatic views of the ocean and the very
latest state-of-the-art cardio equipment,
with various fitness, yoga and Pilates
classes offered. A resort shuttle is
available for rides to beaches, shopping,
restaurants and golf courses within the
Kapalua Resort and the Kapalua/West Maui
airport.
The signature restaurant at the
Ritz-Carlton, the Banyan Tree, features a
new destination bar and lounge with a
covered terrace and stunning views of the
Pacific and the island of Moloka'i. The AAA
Four Diamond restaurant has a new innovative
seasonal menu featuring fresh local
ingredients created by Chef de Cuisine Jojo
Vasquez. A new restaurant, Kai Sushi is
located right off the lobby with expanded
seating and the freshest sushi selections.
The Terrace Restaurant offers a full
breakfast buffet daily, a Seafood Buffer
Dinner on Sunday and an ala carte dinner
menu on Monday; the oceanfront Beach House
features local favorites, fresh seafood,
sandwiches, specialty appetizers and salads
for lunch with cocktails and refreshments
served throughout the day or you can relax
in your lounge by the pool and enjoy
tropical drinks and light fare from The Pool
& Cafe. Check out the new Lobby Bar, the
Alaloa Lounge which has been expanded and
includes a spacious lanai with outdoor
seating and enjoy beautiful views along with
nightly entertainment.
