OVERVIEW |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The 3.5-star Outrigger
Palms at Wailea condominium features two
story Mediterranean-style buildings situated
on a gently sloping hillside looking out to
the scenic Wailea Coast. Just minutes from
boutique shops and art galleries, popular
beaches and some terrific restaurants, the
Palms at Wailea is an oasis of lush tropical
gardens, beautiful views and unbelievable
sunsets. When checking in, guests receive a
packet of three postcards, one packet per
room. Postcards From Paradise will be mailed
by the Outrigger at no cost to anywhere in
the world. Additional postcards may be
purchased at the Reception Desk, which also
will be mailed at no cost. With a minimum
three night stay, children, 5 to 10 years of
age (2 maximum) are given a free Island
Explorer Kit at check-in. Each Island
Explorer Kit includes Friends of the Reef
Adventure Guide/Let's Explore Hawaii Guide,
colorful backpack, sunglasses, pen and
binoculars.
The Palms of Wailea has a beautiful free
form pool with a large sun deck and
whirlpool spa as well as barbeque grills and
picnic area. There is a stream that wanders
down the property through the tropical
gardens and walkways to stroll on to enjoy
the beauty of the property. Complimentary
coffee is offered daily in the lobby. There
are three championship golf courses in the
Wailea area and the Palms offers guest
privileges at the Wailea Tennis Club. At the
Activities Desk you can rent snorkel
equipment, boogie boards, surfboards,
umbrellas and even children's sand toys. The
beach is about a 15 minute walk and the
elegant Shops at Wailea only a 10 minute
walk. Keawakapu Beach is less than a mile
from the condo and has great snorkeling
toward the north end and boogie boarding
when the trade winds are blowing.
The Wailea area of Maui is not only
beautiful with absolutely gorgeous beaches
and scenery, but it is rather upscale and
the restaurants and shops reflect that. If
you plan to have meals at your condo, check
out Kihei, which you pass on your way to
Wailea. Three of Hawaii's four major grocery
stores are located in Kihei, including
Foodland, Safeway and Star Market. If you
belong to Costco, bring your card since
there is a store close to the airport on
Dairy Road, especially great if you are with
your family or a group.
There is a wide variety of restaurants in
the Wailea and Kihei area, from very
expensive to inexpensive. For a special
evening out you can try Capische in Diamond
Resort in Wailea. The award-winning
owner/chef Brian Etheredge has created one
of the most romantic dining experiences on
the island with spectacular views and
wonderful Italian/French cuisine. Also in
Wailea is the not as expensive Joe's, run by
award-winning chef Bev Gannon, featuring
fabulous Hawaii Regional Cuisine and
panoramic ocean views.
Just a short distance away in Kihei are two
moderate priced restaurants including
Spices, an open air restaurant, featuring
the spices and flavors of the Southwest and
Louisiana. One of Maui's newest destination
restaurants, Spices is very popular with the
locals. Stella Blues Café is a long time
favorite with the locals featuring mouth
watering baby back ribs, fresh local fish
and grass fed Maui beef. They also do thin
crust pizzas, great hamburgers and have an
extensive menu geared to good-value family
dining. |
