OVERVIEW |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The 3-star oceanfront
Outrigger Napili Shores is a family friendly
condominium resort located in West Maui. The
condo is only about fifty yards from Napili
Bay's sandy beach, which you can reach along
an oceanside path. There are spectacular
views of the islands of Molokai and Lanai
and of course, beautiful Hawaiian sunsets.
The landscaping is lush with tropical
plants, beautiful lawns, flowers and swaying
palm trees.
When checking in, guests receive a packet of
three postcards, one packet per room.
Postcards From Paradise will be mailed by
the Outrigger at no cost to anywhere in the
world. Additional postcards may be purchased
at the Reception Desk, which also will be
mailed at no cost. With a minimum three
night stay, children, 5 to 10 years of age
(2 maximum) are given a free Island Explorer
Kit at check-in. Each Island Explorer Kit
includes a Friends of the Reef Adventure
Guide/Let's Explore Hawaii Guide, colorful
backpack, sunglasses, pen and binoculars.
The property amenities include two swimming
pools including the garden pool with
whirlpool spa and an oceanside pool, as well
as a Koi (Carp) pond with fountains and gas
and charcoal barbeque areas with picnic
tables. There is also croquet, outdoor
checkers and even shuffleboard and on the
beach, boogie boards and snorkel sets are
available for rent. Both championship golf
courses and tournament-grade tennis
complexes are very nearby. Instead of
turning right when heading for the beach,
turn left and discover a rocky cove that is
a prime sea turtle gathering spot (if the
path seems too rocky, you can walk along the
street in front of the resort to public
access to the cove). Hawaiian Green Sea
Turtles are on the endangered list, so
please do not disturb them.
Other amenities include complimentary coffee
in the morning at the oceanfront pool,
complimentary parking, coin operated
laundry, child care upon request, an
Activities Desk, ATM and luggage storage.
There are two dining spots at the Napili
Shores, including the oceanfront Gazebo
Restaurant known for their Macadamia Nut
pancakes, with wonderful views of Napili
Bay, open for breakfast and lunch daily. The
Fish & Poi Restaurant serves delicious
Pacific cuisine with specialties that
feature fresh island fish, prime rib and
pasta, moderately priced, lovely views and
open for dinner Tues. to Sunday. Since there
are many high end resorts nearby in the
Kapalua area, there are many other choices
for dining.
Then there is the fact that there is a fully
furnished kitchen and a lovely patio or
lanai to eat meals al fresco, "at home".
There is a Costco near the airport and two
of Hawaii's main supermarkets, Safeway and
Foodland are in the Lahaina area where you
can stock up on items for breakfast, lunch
or dinner. The money you save on just
breakfast alone would let you take an extra
excursion, or perhaps splurge for that
special dinner.
This is a very popular resort, in a quieter
area than Lahaina, a little way from the
crowds, with many return visitors and very
positive reviews. All Outriggers are very
family friendly, perhaps because Outrigger
is a locally owned family business and their
Aloha shows in their hotels, condos and
staff throughout the islands. |
