OVERVIEW |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The luxurious 3.5-star
The Kapalua Villas offers their guests the
opportunity to not only enjoy their own
beautiful property, but the entire
1,600-acre Kapalua Resort. There are three
championship golf courses, two of which were
designed by Arnold Palmer, where guests
receive preferred rates, 10 lighted
complimentary tennis courts, 14 restaurants,
shopping and the Ritz-Carlton spa, all of
which you can charge to your room.
There are three distinct areas on the
property where the villas are located. On a
bluff overlooking Oneloa Bay, the ocean
front Bay Villas complex includes two
private tennis courts and three swimming
pools and barbeque areas and are just a
short walk to beautiful Kapalua Bay Beach.
The Ridge Villas are higher up on a
promontory overlooking the bay and offer
stunning views of the ocean and the island
of Molokai, with two recreational areas with
swimming pools and barbeque areas. For avid
golfers, the Golf Villa complex would be
ideal with its magnificent views of The Bay
Golf Course and the island of Molokai in the
distance. There are four recreational areas
in the complex with swimming pools and
barbeque areas.
The Kapalua Villas also offers door-to-door
shuttle service to the hotels, shops,
restaurants and the beaches for swimming,
snorkeling and other activities with an
on-site full service concierge and activity
desk, as well as 24-hour check in and
security.
If you plan on eating some meals in your
condo, there is both a Safeway (open 24
hours) and a Foodland in Lahaina, where you
can stock up on necessities. Kapalua is an
upscale area, so prices will be higher
there. But there are some wonderful
restaurants in the Kapalua area including
Jameson's Grill & Bar, Sansei Seafood
Restaurant and Sushi Bar and the Plantation
House Restaurant.
If you're looking for more moderate prices,
check out the many restaurants in Lahaina.
For a great breakfast, be sure not to miss
The Pioneer Inn in Lahaina, where they've
been serving breakfast for years in their
Snug Harbor Bar and on the lanai looking out
to historic Lahaina Harbor. The Inn was
built on the harbor in 1901 and is
considered a must for breakfast by both
residents and visitors alike.
What to do in Maui besides watch beautiful
sunrises and sunsets? Play golf, play
tennis, visit Iao Valley where King
Kamehameha fought his final battle in his
conquest of Maui, whale watch from November
to March, snorkel at Molokini, swim with
Hawaiian green sea turtles, ride horses
through a rainforest, go deep sea fishing,
or take a helicopter tour to mention a few
activities.
But then for the ultimate experience, you
could simply get up at 2:30 in the morning,
drive about 2-1/2 hours up an often fog
shrouded mountain, then stand at the edge of
one of the largest dormant volcanoes in the
world with a wind chill factor about 20
degrees (on a good day) and at that point
begin wondering why on earth you're there.
But when the sun comes up on the opposite
side of Haleakala Crater and rays of light
pierce the clouds and mists that are in the
crater below you, you'll know why you're
there - because no where else on earth can
you experience such an awe inspiring sight
and leave with a memory that will last
forever.
